A sumptuous single pot still whiskey with a great degree of ageing, Redbreast 15 is richer, earthier and stronger than its 12-year-old sibling. An essential part of any whiskey drinker’s education.
Deep dark honey, marzipan, caramel and fudge balance. Sandalwood, mango, wood and tea bags – rich and aromatic. The palate is amazing! Liquorice Allsorts, sugarcoated fennel seeds, crystallised ginger, sweet cinnamon, sherry, children’s cough medicine and toffees.
Aromas of fruit compote, cinnamon and clove. Good clean streak running through it, but the rich spiciness dominates.
A touch drier than expected, with austere peppery spice making its presence felt, but sweetened up with spicy oak and fresh apple and mango.
Dry, peppery, spicy.
