Bruno Paillard Brut Millésimé Assemblage is a champagne from the Champagne region of France that is a blend of 42% Chardonnay, 42% Pinot Noir, and 16% Meunier. The 2012 Extra-Brut Assemblage Millésimé is medium to full-bodied, with aromas of sweet orchard fruit, honeycomb, buttered toast, lemon pith, and white flowers. It has a long, saline finish and racy acids.
Here are some tasting notes for the 2012 Bruno Paillard Brut Millesime Assemblage:
Nose
Freshly cut Golden Delicious, raw shortcrust pastry, and overtones of Mirabelle plum
Palate
Creamy, dense mousse that highlights the fruit and the wine’s well-proportioned body
Other aromas and flavors
Apples, pear, citrus, plum, buttery, florals, minerality, nuttiness, spices, and toastiness
The word “brut” means “dry, raw, or unrefined” in French, and is the driest classification of Champagne, with less than 12 grams of added sugar per liter.
Bruno Paillard Champagnes are first recognised by the English Press as some of the best wines of the region. In 1988, the famous critic Hugh Johnson defined the house as “A small but prestigious young champagne house with excellent silky vintages and non vintage!”
